![]() While one emotion may be clear, apparent, and obvious to the person, there are so many other's going on deeper, be that consciously and subconsciously also. There are doctors out there who talk about 'typical' vs 'atypical' Cataplexy, they say typical is triggered commonly by positive emotion/s and (a part I do agree with as more likely) that generally the person is up quickly from severe Cataplexy when they've experienced the temporary complete muscle paralysis where 'atypical' they say (the part I think is gibberish and/or rather un-grounded) the person triggers commonly from negative emotion/s and (the part I would agree with) the person may be in the complete temporary muscle paralysis for an extended period of time (minutes to hours or days, though this is far more rare). The way that I really see it, in regard to what is occurring, is like this:Ĭataplexy can be wild in how many different angles and variables (which I'll add are both internal as well as external, separate from one another, and both continually fluctuate) are at play.Īny 'sort' of emotion/s can lead to triggering. Not sure I really have anything helpful to say, but I'll write out what all is going through my mind, maybe something will be insightful and/or beneficial.(?) There was a combination of irritation along with empathy/sympathy, I wasn't angry by being asked, I was just bothered by the fact that I know I have my own situation which has effected my having any ability to work, then there was the side of it that well I may have a few dollars but really not any to spare. It had gotten to a point, that when I'd walk downtown in the city I grew up in, live in and am super familiar with from so many years, I knew I'd be asked while out and it was just a matter of on what corner or part of the main street. ![]() ![]() One of my harsher triggers back when I was frequently, regular like having severe collapsing Cataplexy, was being asked for change on the street.
